I have signed onto a vast array of legislation aimed at protecting our environment, ranging from improving air quality, to establishing a reforestation program, to transitioning off of natural gas and encouraging clean energy alternatives.

Notably, I recently testified before the Joint Committee on Environment and Natural Resources in support of my bill H.1046 which would preserve the dignity and safety of our waterways by eliminating combined sewer systems. I told the Committee that these types of sewer systems, which send untreated wastewater into our waterways during periods of heavy rainfall, pose serious consequences for human health as well as for the surrounding environment.

I implored the Committee to act now on this critical issue which will only be exacerbated by climate change as storm events worsen. I am committed to ensuring that my constituents have access to a safe and clean environment amidst the uncertainty of the climate crisis.
